Bio.
Father/Husband/Artist/Educator
My passion for drawing began at the age of 3 with a rendition of Arsenio Hall. I could not put the pencil, pen, or markers down according to my mom, who fed my creativity with sketchbooks along with the best supplies we could afford. Drawing has always been comfortable and as an undergrad in college I began exploring paint. It challenged my color-blindness (which I like to think of more as ¨color-confusion¨). I fell in love with paint and all its forms. I continue to explore the possibilities of paint in my process and in the style of work I currently create. I also explore the possibilities of paint in the digital realm to create illustrations of characters such as: Eeep! the Ghost and the Hollow Men, which you will find in my drawings and paintings. I also have expanded my practice to include 3-Dimensional work in the form of “ready-mades” and ceramics. My work explores popular culture, social dynamics, current events, narratives from childhood, and character creations. I use my work to help filter and understand my place in the world.
I am also a husband, father and educator. I was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico and grew up in the towns of Mesquite, Anthony, and La Mesa. I currently live and work in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
